Take a turn at Exploring Textures

​The Exploring Textures exhibit opened on Friday, March 1, 2024, with over 170 people in attendance. Norfolk based artist, Ken Wright, was the awards judge.

Mr. Wright shared his experience years ago at a Virginia Beach Board Walk Art Show. He explained that the judge walked right by without stopping to view his art. Mr. Wright walked up to the judge and asked if he had viewed the artwork back there. The judge admitted he missed it, so Mr. Wright walked him back to see it. Mr. Wright went on to say that judging the Exploring Textures exhibit was an honor. He took care in selecting the winners, even turned around on Rte. 264 to come back for a second look before making his final selections.

​No truer words were said when he acknowledged that all the artists in the exhibit are winners. It is rich with texture and talent. Take a turn and view all of the unique artistic creations throughout the month of March at the Virginia Beach Art Center. Maybe even buy a piece for your collection.
