April Featured Artist

Sherry White is a ceramic artist based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, specializing in hand-built functional pottery that balances utility with quiet beauty. With more than 25 years of experience, cultivated alongside a full career in public service, Sherry brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to her studio practice. Her work is deeply influenced by the natural environment of the coastal region she calls home, drawing inspiration from the muted colors, weathered textures, and rhythmic calm of the seaside.
Her pieces are known for their organic forms, subtle surface treatments, and understated elegance. Each object is carefully crafted to feel both timeless and approachable, inviting daily use while offering moments of reflection and connection. Soft, natural glazes enhance the tactile qualities of the clay, allowing the material itself to remain central to the finished work.
Sherry’s ceramic work has been featured in galleries, local artisan markets, and private collections, where it is appreciated for its sincerity, craftsmanship, and quiet sophistication. Through her pottery, she seeks to create objects that are not only functional, but also expressive of place, process, and the enduring beauty found in simplicity.
