Call for Fine Art Fundraiser

Art Donations
Artists are invited to donate their artwork in support of the Virginia Beach Art Center’s 2026 fine art fundraising, taking place August 28–September 6.

  • Art classes and workshops
  • Youth programs and community activities
How to Participate
​Help us reach our fundraising goal by contributing artworks in a variety of mediums and techniques. Selected pieces will be displayed in the Jean Rawls Classroom and featured on the fundraising page.
If you do not have artwork to donate, please consider making a direct donation to the Art Center.

8/6          Submission Deadline
8/10        Selected artworks for the fundraiser                   will be published at the top of this                          page in the Selected Artworks                                Button.
8/25        Drop off of art selected for the                                fundraiser.
8/28        Online Auction begins at 9am
9/6           Bidding ends at 5pm
​9/8-9       Notify winning bidders.
9/14-15   Drop off by donors, 10am - 4pm, and                     pick up of art from the                                               fundraiser that was not bid on.        
9/16-17   Collectors pick up art, 10:30am -                           4:30pm

We encourage that art donated for the fundraiser be created by artists that have participated in the center's exhibitions. We do accept artworks that are from private collections. All submitted artworks are subject to a jury process.

Liability and Permission:
By submitting your donation, you understand and agree to the following:
  • You are transferring ownership of the item to the Virginia Beach Art Center.
  • The Virginia Beach Art Center and The Artists Gallery are not responsible and cannot be held liable for any damages to artworks/items. 
  • The Art Center will use images of the item(s) for marketing purposes.

GENERAL RULES
  • Selected pieces will be on view in the classroom during the online auction. Visit this page on Monday August 10 and click on the blue SELECTED ARTWORKS button to view if the art you donated was selected. Beside the artwork name will also be the word CLASSROOM which will indicate that piece has been selected for physical viewing at the center. If you submitted more than one piece not all may be selected for physical viewing or included in the auction. Please verify the name of each piece before delivering to the center.
  • Delivery of selected art for the classroom is Tuesday August 25, 10:30am - 4:30pm. Ensure all artwork is wired correctly and ready for hanging and in pristine condition.
  • ​Pickup of art that was bid on or not bid on will be September 14 - 15, 10:30am - 4:30pm.
  • Starting bids begin at 40% of full value 
  • There will be no shipping, all artwork must be dropped off and picked up in person.
  • This is a curated auction; not all works may be selected.
  • All works must be free of copyright infringement. 
  • Artworks, mats and frames should be in good and clean condition. Please ensure that all artworks are ready to hang with wire on the back of the frame. Artworks need to be free of smudges and frames should be free of any dings, scratches or other damages.
  • Art that is 3D should be stable and checked for any instability. Only items that are 10" and below will be selected for the classroom viewing all others will be on view on the fundraising page.
  • Works must be labeled on back with title, artist, and medium. and suggested value.
  • VB Art Center is a community gallery. All artworks should be suitable for viewers of all ages.
  • Please ensure that all photos being submitted are in a jpeg format and that photos are crisp and the artwork is shown clearly. For this artist call only, if piece is framed, please include frame in photo, so bidders can see full auction item.
  • If your donation is sold or not sold during the auction, we will notify you.
