An alumna of the Atlanta College of Art, she began her career as a Graphic Artist, later delving into scenic theatre and video production. Her early work in video animation earned her a Southern Regional Emmy Award for a PBS documentary. Transitioning into financial marketing, Vivian discovered her passion for teaching and public speaking. Currently, she is a multidisciplinary artist and art instructor, excelling in illustration, painting, and sculpture. She values the freedom to experiment with different mediums and has received awards for her work in painting, pyrography, and mixed media sculptures. As a resident of Hampton Roads, she has played a significant role in the local art community, previously serving as President of the Chesapeake Bay Art Association and Director of the Ocean View Art Show. Vivian also spent over four years as a resident artist at the D’Art Center in Norfolk. Today, she teaches private art classes in her home studio, sharing her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts. Special Rules:
Interpretation of Theme: An inspiring description of the theme plus some ideas for how to interpret it. Can also include missteps or things artists should not do. Diverse types of art can be submitted to the exhibition. Broad interpretation of theme is encouraged and not limited to just representational art. Abstract, collages, photography, jewelry, and all other types of art are welcomed to submit, as long as they are tied into the theme of the exhibit and never been exhibited in any of the center's art shows.
